Flamenco guitar lineups & repertoire

This project was started in 2013 in order to fill an important niche in the world of flamenco guitar - the flamenco duo. While the middle of the twentieth century did see notable professional collaborations as a result of  dance companies, the lack of musical arrangements and commercial outlet from te record label standpoint meant that such pairings were limited to a handful of public performances.  Flamenco guitar duos such as Sabicas and Mario Escudero or more recently Manolo Sanlucar and Vicente Amigo or Sanlucar and Paco de Lucia responded more to commercial outlets than to the true long term possibilities of flamenco guitar. What's more, it was the coupling of flamenco with jazz or classical guitar that had a more lasting impact. Currently the scene is beginning to show possibilities  for more serious flamenco duos and that is the path that we want to explore - offering a review of the main guitar styles and music from the various periods of flamenco creation. To that end, our repertoire has a broad base.
